Other methods of strangely gaining large sums of money had been perfected by the Galea family.

Rumor has it that Galeas would launder money by buying lottery tickets. The money was then used to pay the ultimate winner a bonus for their lottery paper.

Illegal Gambler and Underworld Figure Bruce Galea Passed Away

The death of illegal gamblers and underworld figures was reported in the Sydney Morning Herald.

The powerful gambler was involved in a variety of gambling crimes, but he was never caught because of his extensive network.

He was imprisoned for two years in Sydney’s Long Bay after refusing to testify before the Wood Royal Commission into police misconduct in 1995.

Galea was imprisoned after a corrupt police officer informed authorities that the gambling tycoon had been paying them to turn a blind eye to his illegal activities for years.

Bruce was operating an illegal casino on Dixon Street, King Cross, and two other locations at the time, according to the corrupt cops.

Bruce rose to prominence after the Independent Commission Against Corruption investigated links between criminal organizations and corrupt cops in 1993.

He was found guilty of running the state’s largest illegal gaming operation, but he always denied paying off cops.
