She was determined not to let anyone else go through what she had witnessed so many people go through during her childhood. So, when she tragically died, she was devotedly studying and on her way to completing her certificate course.

Karunyah Paskaran was eager to visit Malaysia and meet her family after attending a close friend’s wedding. However, due to the ward’s circumstances, she was unable to intervene.
She later died from exhaustion and psychological stress after jumping from the building.
She was described as a pleasant and helpful nurse by friends and coworkers at the Singapore General Hospital, who worked long hours with the group during the Covid-19 outbreak. They had no idea the problems she was having would lead to her suicide.
