Bell Hooks Death Cause: How Did The Black Feminist Die? Details Of Her Obituary

Bell Hooks, a black feminist and author, died on the 15th of December 2021.

“Love is an action, never simply a feeling” ― bell hooks

We mourn the tremendous loss of bell hooks. A woman of great compassion, courage, & extraordinary intellect. Thank you for always putting your love for Black people in action – for challenging us to imagine a bolder future pic.twitter.com/9tydxdgJsg

Bell Hooks Death Cause: How Did The Black Feminist Die?

Bell Hooks was a professor, author, and social activist who died on December 15, 2021.

In her Berea home, the 69-year-old Black feminist passed away. Ebony Motley, her niece, confirmed the sad news in a press release. The cause of death appears to be an illness. During her death, her friends and family reportedly surrounded her.

Gloria Jean Watkins was born in Hopkinsville on September 25, 1952, to Veodis and Rosa Bell Watkins. Her parents were both African-American and had a total of seven children. In white families, her father worked as a janitor and her mother as a maid.

She earned her BA in English from Stanford University in 1973 after graduating from a racially segregated high school in Christian County. She then finished her post-graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1976.

She went on to the University of California, Santa Cruz, to pursue her doctorate in literature, which she received in 1983.

The passing of bell hooks hurts, deeply. At the same time, as a human being I feel so grateful she gave humanity so many gifts. AIN’T I A WOMAN: BLACK WOMEN AND FEMINISM is one of her many classics. And ALL ABOUT LOVE changed me. Thank you, bell hooks. Rest in our love. 1/4 pic.twitter.com/lXnAlaZpng

Bell’s professional career began as an English professor and senior lecturer in Ethnic Studies at the University of Southern California. Her first work, And There We Wept, was written under the pen name bell hooks, which is the name of her maternal great-grandmother.

She then went on to publish her first book, Ain’t I a Woman? Black Women and Feminism, in 1981, which marked the start of her literary career. She has written over 40 books since then.

Hooks received numerous awards throughout her life, including the American Book Awards/Before Columbus Foundation Award in 1991, the Lila Wallace–Digest Reader’s Fund Writer’s Award in 1994, the PEN/Hemingway Award, the National Book Award for Fiction, and the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry.

There are no reports available on the funeral.

Bell Hooks Husband – Was She Married?

Bell Hooks’ husband, on the other hand, did not appear to exist.

She claimed in 2017 that she had been celibate for 17 years and didn’t have a partner . The author, on the other hand, mentioned her desire for one but did not believe it would make her life any less meaningful.

    What’s Bell Hooks Net Worth?

Bell Hooks’ net worth is estimated to be $15 million.

Her earnings came from book sales, performances, and brand endorsements (if any). Her successful career resulted in numerous awards and books being published, demonstrating her wealth.
